P Zero Questions..

Okay, so i keep hearing that the P Zeros are "Summer Tires" i live in Socal, and right now its like 35 degrees outside, Is it bad to be taking my car out? should i maybe get a different set of tires for the Non-Summer time?

Im not a car enthusiast (yet) But i think the P Zeros are legit tires, and i dont see the point in driving them, wearing them down when i could be using a set of all weather tires, until summer comes along..

Thanks in advance -JL

This would be a big YES to both questions.

The P-Zeros are terrible for driving in temp's below 50 F. They have almost no traction and are worse then driving on marbles. You really need to buy some winter or all-weather tires if you want to drive it in cold weather.

I've been driving around all week in temps between 29-45 degrees F and have had NO traction problems whatsoever. I know they are summer tires, but I think they are fine as long as you aren't trying to drive them in snowy and icy conditions. Mine have provided really good grip in wet, rainy conditions.

Anyone else? Would be good to hear other perspectives...

Look around here on the wheels/tires section but I'm going with http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....=Parada+Spec-X

I agree with Red Jwl. I had my car out today and it was 26 on the way to work at 7:00 this morning. No traction problems at all.

It was like 20 some degree's this morning, and I have had NO issues with my P-zero's either.

it was 25 here over the weekend- yes, moderate acceleration will spin them, but once they were up to temp the car was fine...cornering was fine. If your going to be pushing the car in that weather, maybe look to change but for short periods I'd just say keep your head in it, and you'll do great.

The last couple of weeks it's been 30-35 degrees driving to work. I've had no problems.
