Thoughts - Borla v Magnaflow v Flowmaster
Borla CatBack S-Type, Magnaflow CatBack Competition or Flowmaster American Thunder? Thoughts?
I know this really is all a matter of preference, but any feed back is appreciated. Thanks. |

I've been debating the same topic. As all will say, It's a matter of personal taste. I like Borla S-Type the best of the kits you listed.
Borla is 304 stainless, fits and sounds great. Magnaflow is a tad quiet (not a bad thing) but has a great fit/finish also. Flowmaster has a great price and sounds good, but looks kinda weird to me, and is built from 409, a cheaper stainless. Good luck! I think I'm narrowed down to either a Borla S Type, or a Stainless Works Retro Chambered...

I agree they look a little... weird but I love the sound and for the price it was a no brainer for me. |

I do, and I know Tantalizer... it was a joke to him! There is some at 2500 rpm. I just go faster, or slower... up shift or down. Its no biggie but if you keep it at 2500 you will put a bolt through your skull. At 2300 or 2700 there is non so its easy to get rid of. Other then that I LOVE it. Its sounds perfect with my longtubes.

you should listen to one that has completely removed the mufflers for the axle back and just installed straight pipes and tips. Sounds great and costs under 200 in most shops.

Maryland speed and Apex both have great prices on the Borla S. I think it is all preference. I do believe flowmaster and borla are slightly louder, and I love the way the S type looks on my vehicle. The flowmaster seems to have the more old school sound and volume, but does have drone from what C5 members have said. I just love how deep and rich the Borla sound is...

I have LT's, cat delete, and dual magnaflows and I have to say that I think that's how the car should have come from the factory. It has a very nice deep rumble, but not too loud and when you are on the go pedal you can definitely hear it.

The tips look fantastic....and..... you're running long tubes. And your car sounds fantastic! In all seriousness I should have prefaced all that by saying I think flowmaster is by far the best bang for the buck!
