Funny dealer story...

I ordered my car the 1st day available, I think back on October 13th at 9 am in the morning. Currently, I am at 3400 for the last 2 weeks or so. Anyway, I was at the dealer today to see if they got a Camaro yet. They said they have one coming and it should be here within a week. I ask him what was coming in and so forth. Turns out its the exact car that I ordered. So I said, great my car will be here next week. They're like ahhh, No. I said, I was the first guy here, and its the exact car that I ordered, why can't I have it? It is a market sale car that will be marked 5k over. So, if I want to pay 5k over, I can probably have the one next week, or I can wait about 3 weeks and have mine for sticker? Both are identical cars.. Am I the only one that thinks that is a little strange? What the hell is the difference?

because once the camaro's start falling from the sky, the window of opportunity will quickly close to charge over MSRP (OR MSRP too )

Well, logistically your name isn't assigned to that order.

I'm sorry but these stories make me sick. And all of this from a company who wants the taxpayer to bail them out!!. And don't give me this crap about how the dealers are independant. GM could have stated no sales over MSRS. I figured some early order people would get screwed by dealers who would make their first orders for dealer stock. They could have at least told you this at the time you ordered. I've never seen a car I couldn't walk away from and if a dealer did this to me I would tell them to shove my original order and get one somewhere else. My 2 cents

while i do agree that i would do everything i could ruin that dealer, i think it's outta GM's hands nor is it GM's problem.................supply, meet demand!

Well, at least he didn't try and make you pay 5K over for your own car. Don't do it, for the love of God don't do it.

This is just not the case. Once the dealer has purchased the car, it is theirs to do with what they please. In my opinion many are making big mistakes and I can say how much I dislike their business practices, but it is their choice.

+1 It probably is yours and they are just wanting to keep it for a few weeks to advertise with it in the showroom. Everybodys hands will be all over your car, everybodys butts in your seats and everybodys dirty shoes on your floor mats! And in a few weeks they will have a shiny new one and give you yours because its been finger f***ed by everybody. Not to get ya worried or anything though... everybody knows to trust the dealers!

It's the $5000 dollar "Documentation and Underbody Sealant" fee.
