Rearview screen

Bought my 14 2SS new on 12/07 and didn't realize that besides the sound warning while backing up - I should also have the display on the screen. Is there something I have to do to activate this screen or is it an issue that I did not realize I had?

Thanks

The back up camera turns on (or is supposed to turn on) when you go into reverse.

Thanks - Well, when I take it in for service this will be on the list.
I'm not used to having the reverse camera so I did not realize that I should have had it all along as the sound worked and a yellow yield sign flashes on the screen while in reverse.

On the 2014 Camaro 2LT, 2SS, and ZL1, the Rear Vision Package is standard and should include both rear park assist and the rear vision camera. We're here if you need additional assistance with getting this addressed with your local dealer.

-OR-

If you haven't already, try this:

To turn the rear vision camera (RVC) system on or off:
1. Shift into P (Park).
2. Press the CONFIG button.
3. Select Rear Camera Options.
4. Select Camera. When a check mark appears next to the Camera option, then the RVC system is on.

Kindly,

William R.

Thanks, appreciate the tip but unfortunately resetting this did not fix. Kind of disappointed that the dealer let the car go without this working as they did have to drive the car around the lot before I purchased and someone had to notice that the rear display wasn't working while in reverse. When I bought the car, I was not familiar enough with all the options that the 2SS had - so I did not know this was an issue....but the dealer should have.

I understand your concerns. Is there a way I can help set up an appointment for you to have this inspected at your dealer?

Thanks, appreciate the offer but I will have them look at this when I take it in for the first oil change service when I near the 3k mark.

Out of curiosity, what happens when you go into reverse? Does the display stay on whatever screen it was on, or does it just go dark?

The screen goes blank with a yellow yield sign displaying in the center as the beeping sounds. The yellow yield sign appearing is the reason that I thought I did not have the camera option.

The wiring connection might have come loose.

....or was never connected properly to begin with as the dealer received my SS in mid Nov 2013, and I purchased on 12/07/13....I have never seen the rearview screen work.
