It looks great from 10 feet away but if you get close it's gonna look like crap. I did mine stitch by stitch, it took me 4 hours but it looks like red thread. Take your time, have a wet rag close at hand if you get sloppy.

I just recently did mine. Cloth interior, and you need lots of patience, haha. Synergy green paint, with matching stitching ^.~ http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=206680

Dying my stiching
I am new to this forum. I just got my 2012 rally yellow 2LT with RS on saturday. I want to dye my stiching, but not if it will wear away. My question is to everyone that has done this mod. I read through every page of this dicussion and can't find a solid answer. First off, I am wondering what is the best route. Out of everyone who has done this, is the acrylic elmers pens or fabric mate/decofabric better? From what I have read the elmers pens are only acrylic and will wear out fast.
Me having my brand new car, I do not want to do this if it will just wear out so I have to redo it 3-4 times a year. Secondly I saw someone say something about setting the dye with vinegar and water. I read about using vinegar online and that seems to help keep the dye in. Has anyone done this? Please let me know results. Thanks for the help. Look forward to this forum |

The elmers was too messy for my taste so I switched to fabric mate where I could control the application better. I have found that it does wear off on the areas that you touch all the time, (steering wheel, center console) but the areas that are not touched look fine almost a year later. I did not try the vinegar because I didn't want the smell and didn't want to take the chance on it lasting (smell) or perhaps smearing, making spots.

This makes me curious to try, but mines a daily driver so I have concerns with durability.

Mine is a daily driver, my stitching looks really good still. Alittle waer, but the way i did it bled the stitching, so it actually changed the color, not just sat ontop of it.

This looks great! Good job to everyone. I think I might do this, but i'll have to think hard about the color. My stripes aren't yellow, they're a gold color. I'll have to think about what color to use.
i'm assuming we're still holding the "it doesn't fade and it wont stain clothing" thing? |

I managed to get the excess off the leather but the dye doesn't even look good I did the elmers marker. Any way to remove it?
