Clunking Noise in Rear Only When Stopping

I searched countless threads to see if anyone else had this same issue, but I couldn't come up with anything.

I installed BMR 1" drop springs and trailing arms. I took the car to have the bushings timed and an alignment done yesterday. The car rides great and makes zero noise while driving over bumps, turning, etc. The problem is when I come to a quick stop the car makes a small clunk noise. It seems to do it has the weight settles back on the rear after it is transferred to the front from the quick stop. Everything is tight underneath the car. Is this normal?

Mine does the same thing with a full tank of gas. I think the gas is just sloshing back and forth making the clunking sound when coming to a stop.

It's probably the gas in the tank. Is it coming from one side or the other? other thing you might want to check is if the spring is seated correctly. i wouldn't think it could be, but a way to check is lift the car up so the rear is off the ground. You can leave the wheel on, or off. Off would give you more eye'n room tho. Check the spring, and seats of the spring, also does the spring have up and down movement play at all?

What would you do if the sway bar was binding? I might have the same issue.

ive only seen that with improperly installed mounts. its pretty obvious under the car if the sway is binding.

this might be a dumb question, but what exactly happens when the sway bar "binds"?

it clunks and makes noise.
depends on how bad the problem is. if it is way off or bent, the car will sit crooked.
its really rare.

if you have aftermarket sways, just check with the brand to see what mounts are required.
other than that look into see if you need additional sub-frame bracing.

I put the rear end up on ramps and broke the end links loose. I shook the heck out of the sway bar and retightened everything. That solved the problem!

I have read a thread about a clunking noise coming from the rear passenger side of the vehicle during deceleration. It was reported as normal and had something to do with the fuel system.
