Bringing my New ZL1 Home Tomorrow in 27 degrees!!! Pics Added!!

I'm in NY. The car I bought is 145 miles away in PA. If I take it nice and easy do you think I'll have any problems? I have a heated garage waiting for it but I have to get it there!! I read all about the F1 tires and there cold weather warnings. Any opinions from people in a cold climate that had this experience before?

I haven't driven my ZL1 in temps that cold yet , but my 1LE had the same tires and I did drive it some in those same temps. I never had an issue just be real easy on the throttle and take curves at or below posted speed limits. As hard as it may be to do. Good luck and hope it/you make it home safe.

Ask the dealer to have to car in the service garage when you pick it up. The tires should be warm then. Drive the car straight home and do not stop if you do not have to and that well help keep the tires warm.

I bought my ZL1 in January 2013 from a dealer about 100 miles away. I lucked out and picked it up on a rare 50 degree day in January. If I couldn't have picked it up that day, I would have either left it at dealer until the weather improved or payed to have it transported home. Given all the warnings about the Goodyears and cold temps, I didn't feel comfortable driving the car 100 miles below 40.

Where in PA is your car? Is snow falling between you and the dealer? Road conditions will be far more critical than the outside temp. Besides the safety issues, I wouldn't want to expose my new car to all that salt and crap?

I think you'll be ok. Just don't goose it too hard off the line, or go into corners 15 mph over the limit. Treat her like a newborn until the weather breaks! CONGRATS!

Put the PTM in mode 1 and take it very easy if you decide to drive it. Remember that grip isn't just for cornering – it's for braking.

Yes the cautious driving is a given. The car is parked in there service garage. Also I won't move it an inch unless the road is completely dry. I planned on non stop until I hit my heated garage in NY.

Well this is torcher for you.

You buy the "king if the road" Camaro and have the limp her home due to the weather. That sucks.

Just follow everyone advise above and be careful. These cars are torque monsters and the tires break loose real easy.

Congrats btw!
