Fuel trims on the K/N were positive 13-15...way to high and difficult to tune.

Are you kidding me right now? Bashing other products to sell yours?

Pretty much all air intakes are the same performance wise. It all comes down to which one's finish you like the best. I'm getting a K&N AirCharger for mine and it costs way less than any other brand and performs the same probably.

I went Roto-Fab because it was one of the better performers and the customizing options. wish ida went with the polished tube, but the IOM box and dry filter options sold me! they also make a SuperCharger tube!

Doesn't sound like he's bashing anyone. He's just giving a knowledgeable answer to the thread.

Obviously you haven't seen the inside of the K&N intake tube. If you have and have a clue what it takes to make a good CAI, you'll know why it's so cheap. That MASSIVE GAPPING HOLE where the MAF goes doesn't promote good airflow, but at least you're saving a few $$.

youre an a,,, ho,, dont listen to what everubody tells you....right now theres about 100 different cpmpany who produces a cai for us....you need a pastic tube and a great seal against the hood....a velocity stack helps to where it connects to the filter....to me its surprising a company like cai inc dont have that and use a stupid full aluminum or other METAL intyake pipe......dont make sense...name me 1 car comny who use that...1???no ferrari no lamborghini....or course not porsche..........................nobody........... .....not even kia...wait ...........not even toyota does that...

Its all about cost. The ceramic coated aluminum tube cost more (The coating itself cost more). There is a reason our system produced the lowest IAT of its type in the jannetty shoot out.

Do you even have a clue as to what you're talking about? Obviously you DON'T since you're bashing CAI's intake tube and don't even know it's ceramic coated to PREVENT heat soak. While i'm not sure of the benefits over plastic, i'm sure it's considerably better than metal alone. Also, the velocity stack does no good when you have indentions and protrusions in the intake tube to make the air more turbulent. Go back and learn what it takes to make a good CAI and RESEARCH the different CAI's before you decide to bash them.

I just installed my K&N intake, It does NOT have "That Massive Gapping Hole" like the website shows... I'm very happy with mine, I love the look and finish. I'm not worried if I don't get as much horsepower as some of the other ones though. I just wanted to shed some light on the "hole" its really not as it apears on the web.

I'm installing mine today, but it definititely is pretty f***ed up on the inside. See pic:

If I didn't get it so cheap, I'd probably call up K&N and ask them what they were smoking...

WOW! That is pretty bad, mine is definately not like that, mine is a small retangular slot. When I get back home (March 4th) I'll take a pic. I have the "Typhoon" kit,
