Yep, I found that by tripling the tape, I increased the tow capacity by two to three tons, maybe four, but I didn't want to push my luck.

It would've looked a lot cooler if it was an open air trailer, the enclosed U-Haul trailer was not as cool. Ha!

By the way, a few hitch outlets recently lowered their prices on this hitch to around $150 + shipping. So I am correspondingly dropped my price to $125 (keep in mind you are getting a $20 hitch lock with mine as well).

Cheers,
George

Does this require professional installation, or is it a DIY?

Totally DIY, If you have an adjustable wrench and 15 minutes you can install it.

This is very easy to install and remove. I needed one for a trip. Took about 15 minutes to put on and another 15 minutes to take off after I was done. The wiring harness takes longer and it is plug and play.

What does the wiring harness tap into?

I didn't buy a wiring harness (though they are available).

I believe the rear light harness in our Camaro's has a plug possibly, can anyone confirm?

I made a quick harness out of misc parts that I got at AutoZone and built in about 5 minutes, it was crude, but worked for the trip I was going on.

So far the shipping quotes I've been getting from UPS and FedEx have been pretty high, around $70 and up from MD to TN and over $100 for the West Coast, definitely better to buy from online retailer if you aren't local to me. This is only a deal for someone within 100-150 miles of me where we can link up face to face.

Cheers,
George

Ok, now it's officially Spring, and with the warm weather comes the bike shows and other activities where you might need to tow your bike or other things with your sweet Camaro, so grab this super easy to install tow hitch and you'll be all set!!

Please be local (within 150 miles of MD, DE, PA, NoVA, DC area, otherwise shipping will be a bear and the cost to ship makes this much less of a deal).

Cheers,
George
