Maybe, maybe not. In '67 the SS Camaro got the 350cid engine a full year ahead of the Vette.

Really? I don't think I ever caught that! I'm still thinking the 'Vette will get DI first, though, that'd be d@mn cool to get in Z28! Did 'Vettes get DZ engines? A little off-topic, just out of curiosity

No other Chevy got the 302cid (DZ or otherwise) from the factory. The 350cid engine was "Camaro only" in '67.

As a matter of fact the 302 only came in the Z/28 from 67-69 and that's it. Also a DZ302 motor only came in a 69 Z/28.

OK - 'cause I've never heard of those finding their way into 'Vettes and my search didn't net any different results.

Thanks

That is true, there is always an exception to the rules. However I do not see that happening this time around, especially with the C7 just around the corner. Probably not, but maybe the camaro will get lucky, and they will give the new engine to a z28 the same year the new vette is released.

That would be correct, there were differences in the 302 all three model years (even some changes within model years), the final version which went in the '69 Z/28 was the DZ302 (of which there were over 20k made).

Very suprised, almost shocked that they didn't do a DI LS3 to compete with the 5.0 stang, GM knew once the 2010 came out ford was going to counter. The DI should have been on the board as soon as #1 came off the line last march. Not even a 3:73, shhesh.....Or maybe the new smaller vette motor, I guess they want to debut that motor in the vette first.........

jump to conclusions mat. . .

who's to say that future powertrain and options weren't planned for? and how do you think the first year buyers would feel if they refreshed this quick? how could they make a profit if they refreshed this quick? smaller vette motor? are you referring to the C6R engine? that's a requirement for the racing series. It's not even a production engine. ..
