Stock 2015 SS a6 vs nissan 370z nismo 6spd

Stock 2015 2SS a6 vs stock nissan 370z nismo 6spd.

So my friend has a 2015 Nismo and feels that his car wins in a drag...

Any ideas?

I am kind of leaning towards a drivers race but idk

The fastest time for a stock 6-speed over at the370z.com is a 13.1 @ 105. Most are 13.5 and slower. Have you been to the strip with your car?

I would think you should have him covered. A6 Camaro is a much easier car to launch strongly than an M6 V6 car that makes peak torque at 5200rpm and peak HP at 7400rpm. It's going to take good driving to extract everything that motor has to offer, where as an L99 car can roll out strong without much fuss.

I ran a normal 370 from a dig. I bogged my launch big time, managed to hang at his door. At about 30-40 I started pulling hard. You should have no problems.

I own a 2010 SS, my dad owns a 2012 370. Pretty sure the Nismo package does nothing for power. You got him bro

OP, Nismos are a little more powerful than the regular 370s (about 20 more hp).
Although the onky make 350hp from the factory, they also weight about 550lbs less than a camaro SS.

With some bolt ons and tunning, 370s can put up a pretty decent fight vs a stockish SS. Especially if the Z driver is experienced and the SS' is not.

Wrong.
I was thinking of when I had an 05 350z. I know in the 07 models, the nismo didnt do anything for power. I assumed they carried it across to the 370z platform as well. Oh well, you know what they say when you assume..

I don't blame you for thinking that though, my buddy works at a Nissan Dealership and says that the Nismo 370z's don't feel any different than the regular Z's.

I'm not engineer from Nissan but I think they should've done more than add a few external upgrades and actually make the Nismo Z a respectable vehicle for the price.

I don't see this as really relevant, because even if it is true, why wouldn't you get a tune after installing parts? I'm only waiting to get my tune because I still need to get test pipes and CAI to make it worth my time and money to do so.

Even if you just want the Nismo body style you can get an exact replica body kit(minus the wing) and wheels for cheaper than it costs to buy(Or so I've read on here). You would have to get the wing from Nissan or someone who owns a nismo and is willing to give it up.

But if you consider all the time to install the parts, or the money you will pay someone to do it for you, you might just soak up the difference and buy a Nismo.

So in the end you are buying how the car looks, and a little plaque between the seats, since basically everyone mods their car.

Having said all that, I paid 38,5 for mine and don't regret it for one second, and if I had a second go at the decision, I would make the same decision.
38.5k basically a fully loaded 2ss/rs. Granted there is no HP difference when you go up and down within the SS packages I still think the Nismo should have more UMPH in it...

Ive always liked the Z's. I just find their power underwhelming for what they cost.

Ha my buddy with the 370 nismo just keeps telling me how much he loves my 2SS. I always catch him staring at it when he walks into work. I guess he should have just gotten an SS.
