I can side with you - my car is setup similar to yours and I only have 500 miles on mine. I am not scared to drive it just hate having to clean it again and worry about all the a**holes on the road. My daily driver Tundra got hit by some idiot driving a $100 truck - he drove home and I got $13k in damage.

Beautiful car you have. I was really picky of my car before it got flooded out... I'm not going to be like that with the new one (picking up tonight!). It can be taken away from you at any time, by a stupid driver or Mother Nature. It's like being afraid to leave the house because you might get hurt or killed (some people actually have this problem too). Cars are made to be driven, and you can't be afraid to drive it. Get out there, drive it, and show it off!

I totally understand the OP, many will not. I got cars I am afraid to drive, not so much because it will break but rather I want it to stay poifect. It is bad, we all should be driving our cars, modded or not. My modded camaro hasn't rolled its tires in months, the Shelby in weeks, I drive my M3 more I don't care as much for it. Oh yeah, something will definitely go wrong on power-modded car, guaranteed, only a matter of time and frequency of driving. But then again, I have OCD so even a tiny paint chip will bother me al the hell and make me lose interest in the car. OP, don't be like me, DRIVE THAT CAR and get your money's worth off it!

One thing this thread made me think about is that if someone does heavily modify a car and then uses it as a DD...they are going to lose out on a ton of money for a short vehicle life. Everyone knows that you don't get your money back out of mods...I'm planning on driving mine selectively and making it last for awhile. Can't afford to throw 40K worth of mods into a car that I'm only going to have for 5 years cause I drove it everywhere I went...

I don't drive mine in the rain or snow, or when there is a threat of rain or snow. Don't need to- thats what the family 08 SS Impala is for. Cold out?- no problem. It's been raining for a freakin week in a row now- heavy- some tornadic activity. Pass.
As someone stated earlier- I pick n choose where I take it. The movie theatre or Walmart are no-go's. And I'm even lucky enough to be able to park in a handicap spot!! (I'd rather have my left leg back though). You'll get over it. Crank up some Metallica's Sabra Cadabra and lay down some rubber!!

I'll drive it, wash it, drive some more. I don't mind cleaning it cause I enjoy driving it. You have a nice car, go enjoy it.. plan road trips, or weekend vacation/trips. This car loves to hit the open road and cruise.

Tempted to get a zl1 as the daily driver, but me and the wife are trying to have a baby and im still pretty young (24). Already have 3 vehicles, 2009 Jeep wrangler Rubicon 4 door hard top, camaro, and 2003 f-150.
Maybe I will build me an old nova to play around in . Not real pricey and fun. |
