Good luck with all of that! I'm getting back into it now that I'm able to focus more. It's crazy how easy something can happen and just take it out of you mentally.

I started lifting in college and never stopped. This is my 33rd year. You have to find out whatever routine works for you then perfect it. Too many clowns in modern day gyms make it difficult to focus. Without focus you are f-ed.
I call my current gyms " the house of bro " or " the zoo ". I go to three different ones because I need variety and I sure as hell don't want to see the same people every day. Good grief, people taking selfies, carrying on with bar-like convos or playing with their phones on equipment like it is a park bench. ARRRGH. Never mind. You know what I mean. |

Bump because in danger of second page
My start at CF was delayed a week because the intro courses were cancelled because of the weather. The madness starts tonight.

My madness started on Valentines Day. The wife stepped wrong off a curb, into a hole and fractured her ankle in three places. One plate and eight screws later, she cannot put any weight on it for another 7 weeks. So my gym time has taken a huge hit to make sure she is healing, and taken care of. Poor girl, I do feel sorry for her, and the pain she is in, has to really be throbbing at times. Love it when life throws a curve, but I don't mind, I will go with it. Now my focus is making sure she stays positive, is eating healthy, making sure she it pampered even more than normal. She has taken such great care of me over the years, feeding me chicken, steak, fish, and helping/motivating me to compete, this is nothing helping her. She is a great girl, and so glad I get to do my part.

And her most concerned question for the doctor.... "will I be healed enough to drive our car on the dragstrip in August for Camarofest". Got to give it to the girl, she has her priorities ready. I have been training my boys hard for a powerlifting contest in April and wasn't sure if I would play with them or not. Now with her injury, I probably won't. She is such a supporter of me, to compete and her not be there, would not be fun for either of us. I have been pushing well in training too. I squatted 545 lb last night, made it look easy. |
