Cargurus and auto trader are great.

Truth is selling a car to random people is almost impossible. Your better of trading it in.

Only if you have a ridiculous asking price. I've sold a few cars privately and none of them took more then two weeks

I have no problem selling my V6 in less than 30 days...

But I was realistic with the asking price.

Cars.com
autotrader.com

Worked for me.

Jeep SRT8, corvette Z06, Viper GTS = eBay less than a week

Corvette Z06, Camaro Z28, many Mustangs = Auto trader, 3 weeks

Post tons of pics and make a complete description, when someone is buying something on the net they are wanting to feel like they are looking at the whole car.

+ 1

At least 25+ pictures of the car. This is the #1 thing that will get it sold fast.

Take a look at other listing that have over 30 pics to get an idea on what pictures to take.

I sold my 2013 1LE through a high end car dealer on consignment. Was well worth it!

Be willing to accept JUST UNDER the prices of the average SELLING prices of cars. Comparing ASKING prices aren't worth spit, except to get the idea of figuring out where to start with your price. Too many people expect stuff for free and people should give away their cars.

I always say when I sell any car, if you can find a better car for a better price, then buy the dang thing. But if you want MY car, you'll have to pay MY price. And I do believe I always ask less than the next person. There's a blue 2002 Camaro SS selling on here for twice the asking price as I sold mine for, and mine was dang near as clean as that one with similar options and mileage. I sold it in less than 2 weeks because I was REASONABLE with the selling price. That blue one isn't going to sell any time soon for that asking price.

Soft market out there right now with cars, especially with convertibles as we head into the cooler months (although it may not feel like that right now) in most of the northern states and Canada.

And with the ZL1, 1LE, Z/28 and others that usually only those that are aware of what Camaros really are normally are the ones drawn to these cars and really know their value. Most of the motoring public don't know why your used convertible should be selling "so outrageously high" in the $40s when they can get a new SS 'vert for the same price.

I disagree with the statement that you'd have a hard time selling a car like that to an individual and you'd be better off trading it in to a dealer. It would likely be faster, but at a huge cost disadvantage. If it is priced right, the right buyer will be there.

I can tell you right now, if I didn't already have a ZL1 CRT vert, I'd have that one right now. I think about the only difference is mine is a manual where yours is an auto.

If you ask higher than people expect you have to be ok with waiting them out. When I sold my 10 sec 2000 SS I was asking about 6k over what they were selling for. But with the mods on it I wanted to get as much out of it as possible. I knew eventually there would be someone looking for something like my car so I just waited. I was paid off, parked inside, with liability only insurance. It cost me about $30 a month to keep it so I just waited. About 10 months later someone took it at the price I wanted. That's after many people on the forum it was on at the time said it would never sell at that price. It all depends on rather you need to sell it or just want to sell it.

By the way my fiancé wants your car. But we just bought a Traverse for her last year.

Im glad you were able to sell it, but waiting ten months to sell a car is a really long time. Wow, you are a patient man! Congrats!!
