14 CAMARO ZL1 rear end broke

2014 ZL1 MT, 17,000 miles. My stock rear end clutch packs melted, and GM refused to cover it under warranty. I knew that risk when I upgraded. 680hp rwh. the dealer wants $3500. Any help on upgrades would be extremely helpful. Thanks guys

This is the first thread I have seen where a ZL1 diff broke under 900whp. I was to understand there are really stout....

Yea this is the first I've ever heard of one breaking must have just had a bad setup. Don't count on gm for anything just buy a used one and call it a day.

The OP mentioned the stock clutch packs melted, assuming the gears are fine, remove the differential from the car and get a master assembly kit for the diff and just rebuild it. Kit is probably +-$300 and 6 hours labor from most shops. Just a suggestion
