Since I joined in 2013 I still haven't seen an AGP run good times at the track

I've been looking for times since it came out. All I see is a lot of power out of the kit and no track times. I'm sure Unreal will chime in and swear up and down on it

My cousin has a L99 with agp tt@12psi, exhaust, full bmr suspension and nitto 555r drag radials. Only been to the track once and best he could do was 11.5@125. Stock transmission was acting up at those power levels. It needs a stall converter or a 2 step to build more boost off the line.

They run 11's all stock car, just turbo kit. 10's with more work to the rest of the car. Stall converter or two step as mentioned. Our customers seem to be more interested in building all around fast cars that excel in all forms of racing not focus on building a drag car. By far most of our kits are sold for manual transmissions and often 1LE's, that are the worst set-up for drag racing but the best all around of the Camaro SS's. So the lack of great drag times is really cause our customers don't seem to care that much about it.
We do have a couple customers who are into drag racing building up cars right now. We hope they can join the big boys club soon. |

That's dissapointing, was hoping for more answers. Was hoping to hear some mid 10s in the 1/4 mile and 6-7s or so in the 1/8 mile

You want better times then a blower would be better. However roll runs turbos take it. You can get the turbos to go fast in the 1/4 Mi but you will need other supporting mods like mentioned above

I don't know if that could even be possible just bolting on a power adder and nothing else. Maybe nitrous. Ask around but I don't think any superchargers have ever done that ether, with just blower and no other work to the car.

Hopefully soon, I can add some data to this discussion as I have a 2010 SS auto that is completely stock bumper to bumper other than bolting on AGP's base turbos and a 3" magnaflow catback. Once my DR's come in and I swap them onto the car then I'll take it to my local 1/4 mile and see what it can do. Car made 588/593 on the dyno at about 9psi so we'll see what happens.

Obviously PD blowers and n2o need nothing else to explode out of the hole. Where centri's and turbos need a high stall or two step to hit hard off the line. But it's only fair to also point out the other side that once rolling, PD blowers then don't have the top end that can match centri's and turbos. One of the major things that our customers who've gone from PD's to our turbo mention, is that all the extra power is up where you have the traction to use it. The cars are usually at the limit of traction under 60mph anyway, not the limit of power. So they want crazy power above that to keep accelerating the car as hard as possible. |
