changing order
I am thinking of changing my order to an ss/rs instead of just the 2ss, and maybe changing the color of my stripe package as well. If I make a change, will that bump my production to the end of the line with gm or my dealer or both. I am not sure how many allocations my dealer had, but I am sure it was less than 10. I am next to last in line there anyway. Just wondering if anyone here knows what happens to your place in line if you change the details of your car.

If your order has not been pulled by GM yet, you can make whatever changes you want, as long as you're not changing from v6 to v8 or vice-versa.
Just make sure when they make any changes that they print out your workbench sheet and show you that all of the options you want are shown. There have been some glitches where making changes has knocked other options off for no reason |

It shouldn't change anything. What I want to know is if I change to IOM will I have to pay the premium paint cost even though I have a preorder car?

If you pre-ordered, then you're price protected no matter how many times you change your order. If you want the IOM, go for it.

the dealer told me a couple of months ago that any change would move me to the back of the line, but reading these posts I have seen that others have made changes and the cars are already being built

when the dealer gets his allocation pulled by gm on a thursday he will call you and you will go in and change what ever you want .you have to the following tuesday to change your mind before the final order goes in .i changed my color then i changed my rims with no problem .i was number 1 and stayed number 1 after all said and done .also make sure there is no constraints on anything you ordered.good luck
