2 people nearly got strangled yesterday

So I take my 3 week old 2SS to work for the 1st time yesterday, and park in a spot with 10 spaces to my left, and 10 to my right. I walk into the building for 1 minute, come back out because I forgot my cell, and someone is parked right next to me. At this point I'm thinking WTF! So I walk up, and sure as shit there is a huge door ding the size of a quarter on the driver's side. Of course the person is no where to be found so i took about 10 pic's. to document it all. I got the plate # and will have my brother who is a cop in the city where it happened run the plate if i don't see this jackass on Monday. Then, to top it all off my wife and I stop by a jewelry store so she can pick up her ankle bracelet, and i'm looking out the glass window and another jackass in a frickin Volvo opens his door into the passenger side!! By this time I'm thinking "I'm going to jail today." So I go out and get all of his info. (he saya he's going to pay for it) and am completely devastated. 2 F-ing door dings in one day. I know it could be worse, but it's just the point that you can't have anything nice anymore you know? Have some respect when you park next to a Camaro for Christ's sake! Sorry, but I had to vent.

Gonna have to start roping off 2 airmatresses on the side of Camaro's when you park at the store.

What's with people in these last few months seem to be more and more idiots that just don't care about anyone or anything.

Man that's insane! I believe I would have gone crazy. The only damages on my 4th gen are inconsiderate people and their door opening! I am careful when opening my doors, even if its a busted ghetto fabulous car. You're lucky you were able to get plates and information.

Is this a joke? If not wow dude that is the worst luck ever and I am sorry to hear about this... On a positive note at least you weren't t-boned or rear ended at a red light like some other members recently.

have respect next to ANY car...
seriously, is it that hard to slowly open your door instead of like kick it? lots of cars have multiple 'resting' points where the door will rest still 1/4, 2/4, 3/4 of the way out...

One reason why I love my Vettes...LOL they can not door ding!!

I do understand why it would upset you. Lack of respect now a days is amazing but, it is just a car and not worth going to jail over..

I feel your pain. Went to the movies one night with the girlfriend
came out and some teenage girl was on my hood getting her picture
taken. What ever happened to good old ass beatings to teach kids
respect for other peoples property.

Heres a quiz, What are you thinking about when you open your car door ? You have a window to look out to see how far you are from the other vehicle, you know how far your door opens up, so what is the deal ? Door dings are a killer. I know some are done by accident but most are done by peolpe that have no respect for other peoples property.

Sorry to hear about your situation.

I hope you get the dings out soon and things get better.

Several years ago I was sitting in my new Firebird, a real long time ago! Anyway, an 80- year old woman pulls in beside me and swings open the door on her Caddy and crunch, right into my passenger door. When she got out I told her "I know it' not a Cadillac, but I spent hard earned money on this car"! She just looked at me like I was from another planet. I didn't bother, just went and got it fixed.

Times are no different now than they ever were. We just have to bear it and go on.
