The cover looks like a corvette win, but the write up implies the engine didn't perform up to standard..I'm wondering if it is the over heating problem I didn't believe they had.

Update: AMG GTS was this year's winner of MT's Best Driver's Car
Here are the LS lap results at MT's BDC
1. Mercedes AMG GT-S, 1:35.57 2. Porsche Cayman GT4, 1:37.43 ** 3. Mazda MX-5 Miata, 1:50.68 4. Mercedes AMG C63S, 1:40.50 5. Bentley Continental GT3-R, 1:43.51 6. Cadillac CTS-V, 1:38.52 7. Cadillac ATS-V (M6), 1:40.18 (A8, 1:39.65) 8. Lexus RC-F, 1:43.20 9. Volkswagen Golf R, 1:46.95 *DNF Chevrolet Corvette Z06/Z06 (M7), 1:38.60 * Next day, GM sent a red Z06 to replace the yellow one where it competed in the remaining tests ( 0-60, 1/4, etc.). Too bad they didn't have the backup car when the LS laps were being done. ** The Porsche also had suspension-related issues. Techs had to fix the problems onsite. __________________ |

What a bummer for the Z/06! Not good for the brand name Corvette when the flagship car breaks down, even if this one will be sold in the smallest quantity...Good showing by Cadillac! ATSV beats the 2009 BDC Camaro SS by 5sec at LS....very promessing for the new GenSix !

Wow, somewhere within GM, there is someone, probably multiple someones, having a very bad day over this.
I, personally, am rather disappointed. While I understand things break, oftentimes despite some extensive effort to make sure that they won't, it's a pretty public black eye. |

GT350 has been noticeably absent from all comparisons this year. Still no performance numbers of any kind and orders for 2015 models still sitting idle. It will be included in the 2016 R&T PCOTY which usually hits in November. I'm starting to wonder if the results are less than stellar, i.e. metrics being withheld so orders aren't cancelled.

They should have used my Z06.... better track prepped than their yellow lemon. I'd be humbled with Randy P. hooning mine at LS! Plus the fact that GM lent a car with bad brake pads to begin with already shows their lack of attention to detail! |
