As you can see in trans damm's two pics, the hoods are nothing similar... The z hood is almost like the l88 hood, but more rounded instead of squared...
The front of the Z hood opening comes into a \/ not round like your render. Also I think they are very similar relative to any other hood produced by Gm (ats aside). There not identical I'll give you that but they have a lot of similar design que's. Either way I'm 99% sure it will be carbon. Just hoping exposed center will be an option.

It doesn't come into a v... It has a slight "tip" to it, but it's mostly round. My render doesn't really show it too much bc of the angle... But these images will. The "outer shell" is round and comes to a small "peak" as seen in image 2 the zero7 vette stingray hood... It's not going to go into a "v" bc that's not how the hood line goes... Image 3 will show hood line to extractor line...

You're looking at it at a alternate view... It's not a v... If you look at the front bumper from a side view, looks like it makes a v, but the front is rounded...Correct? It comes to a point, but it's quite round... Here, let me show you in another way...

It only looks like a v bc of the angle you're at... It comes to a point, but that's the center... Then rounds back... It follows the body lines of the hood... I should've done a top view to explain better...

Yeah the point in the center is what's giving me the v image. The camo is def doing its job. Maybe an overhead shot will clarify it but right now I'm not seeing it round like your render and really hope it's not round.

Well it's not really "round" it rounds to a point... It basically follows the lines on the hood... They usually do... So it'll be straight-ish down the side and then round to the point... It'll look good. The hood on my render is really close, for the angle. Never fear, I don't think gm will disappoint on this one...and yes, the camo is doing its job, screwing with everyone's head and eyes...

The images definitely resemble the old Corvette L88 big block style hood from back in the day more and less like the current ZL1, Z06, CTS-V, and ATS-V heat extractor hoods.

I don't understand how everyone thinks this hood is like the z06 or cts-v.... Those hoods are just dips with grille vents covering the extractor port. This hood clearly has a center section, that appears to be "going into" the lower and side portion of the hood. The lower and sides are almost like wrapping the center section, which is in no way like the cts or z06. They're extractor hoods yes... But that's the only similarity... This is almost like the l88 hood and old bandit trans am hood mixed...
