Thats with a real slow 2.1 sec 60' (you can hear the wheel spin going down the track at the beginning of the race).

I'm going to need to start filming the 392s at our track. Boy I could add some serious fuel to the SS (not ZL1) vs 392 agruement.
ok and I will film all the high 13 sec SS @ Gainesville... Oh wait they have already been posted in threads here on the same day, same track when the 392's run low mid 12's.... ( Srt8Tech) who now owns a Gt500 lol.. My point.. Who cares if your car is faster on paper, if you can't put the power to the ground or drive, you lose....

Well it's advertised as a muscle car.... it's far too heavy(4,000 lbs) to be considered a sports car, and it's not really what you might call "luxurious". The GT500's chassis is outmatched by it's engine(overpowered, for the capabilities of the chassis) and the ZL1's engine is outmatched by it's engine(underpowered, for the capabilities of it's chassis) IMO.

I think people realize that, but just expect a little more out of a car with 580hp. I'm really starting to see more and more that it does not take much for an SS to run pretty close (Not beat) with these ZL1's. Last year at Lapeer on a 70 degree day I ran a best of 12.52. My best MPH was 115.1 (stock tires). All I had was LT's, CAI, and tune. In reality that is what a lot of members on here are comparing a lot of these ZL1 times to because so many have the same mods and more that I have done.

By the way your Flex runs awesome. I think I would be afraid to line up to you. One screw up on my part and the race would be yours. I keep showing my buddies at work (GM) your videos and they cannot believe it. What's left in mods for your Flex that you can do?

Thanks!

I really don't have any more performance mods planned... but in theory I could put in a 3 BAR MAP sensor and turn the boost up a little bit more... Right now I'm only hitting about 15 PSI... I believe the motor could easily handle 17 PSI... But for now, i'll just be sticking with the 15...

I'd like to see what you get when the air gets better with how you are sitting right now. Haven't you been at more or less the same state of tune since you were in the low 13s this summer?

You could also use that to help illustrate to some of the guys around here how DA can effect your runs. Since you the driver, car, and track are all pretty much the same, and the DA would be the only major variable. Unless track prep is also a huge variable at Lapeer.

Well.... i recently switched to a new tuner and tune, moving from an SCT to a MyCal device (Dashdaq with tuning abilities!)... Still getting the new MyCal tune dialed in... Making nice power but now my problem appears to be traction! I can see I'm definitely leaving with more boost! And my trap speeds are up! Now, if I could just hook! LOL!

And yes, traction is very variable! LOL
