Exhaust Flaps - Closed on Startup?

So I've been searching and haven't been able to find an answer...

Is there any difference between the ADM, Forza or DashLogic Controllers with respect to how they manage the flaps at startup when set to the 'closed' position?

Looking to minimize volume as much as possible at 6am startup and am curious if any of these 3 controllers are better than the others in this regard.

All things being equal I'd prefer the DashLogic just because I could also monitor Ethanol content - but if it doesn't have memory to remember last setting (ie always starts open irrespective of last setting) I'd like to know so I can make an informed decision.

Also curious on the ADM or Forza - do the flaps open for a second then snap closed, or do they truly start closed? Does holding the key in the 'on' position momentarily before cranking ensure the valves are closed for all/any of these 3 options?

TIA!

Paul...

The flaps are vacuum operated. Cant be closed until the engine is running which is after startup.

How does the dashlogic display ethanol %? Obviously with a flex fuel sensor but does the sensor have to be wired to one of the 5v senspr inputs on the dashlogic or through the ECM/OBD.

Dashlogic NPP exhaust setting at startup depends on its setting at shutoff.

If Quiet Mode (closed) at shutoff then will startup in Quiet mode (cruise control icon will be displayed in speedo).

If Power mode (open) at shutoff then will startup in Factory mode ( open until 1,000rpm then closed until 3,000rpm then open )

I don't know about ADM or Forza ?

Thru ECM I believe...

Cool, then sounds like should be no worse than ADM or Forza, agree?

All I can do is vouch for the forza. I have a cam and long tubes with cats. I can tell a difference with starting up with valves open or closed, really the vacuum I assume builds up nearly instantly. Certainly makes the car quieter in my neighborhood.

Not according to dashlogic when I asked 2 years ago...

Settings are as Stock unless the cruise control position is changed (either on or off at start up does not matter).

This is how mine works and it has no effect on startup noise and will not keep the valves closed after shut down.

That's why I asked... I've seen it reported both ways; would be great if I could find a decent user's manual online. Found their config PDF, but it had zero reference to NPP exhaust operation.

Does the cruise control icon only appear when you're in Quite mode? If it does turn the car off in Quiet mode and restart ... does the cruise control icon still appear? If it does see if you notice that as soon as Dashlogic finishes going thru it's bootup DIC displays that the flaps will close.

Doubt it. Just because it starts up with the cruise on doesnt mean the valves stay closed when the car is off without vacuum. The springs in the valves open them without a vacuum source. You can hear them open after you shut off the car with them closed...

When I get a chance ill make a video showing how the valves work on start up and shut down.

Not on mine... And thats not what the OP is asking about. (Valves closed on startup, not after when vacuum builds)

What Dashlogic version are you using? In what mode does the cruise control icon appear?

Saw mention of boot up for the DashLogic before closing flaps ( in a best case scenario where the last setting is retained)...

If that's the case, I'm guessing the flaps may close sooner on the ADM or Forza controllers?

Can anyone with either ADM or Forza weigh in - how quickly is the exhaust diverted thru the mufflers upon startup?
