I got one of these a month and half ago and works great . It’s his 103mm TB. The relearn is easy and the TB is a beautiful piece. And it fit nice and flush with my MSD manifold . Also
Mike was very helpful on the phone and got me what I needed . I vouch for Soler . Good customer service and quick shipping . |

so, I started to install my roto fab yesterday and the mailman showed up while i was halfway thru... Brought me a box from soler performance. Nice piece.
attached is a side by side with the stock TB. So I figured may as well install them both at the same time. Ready to go for a relearn drive now!! |

So, I started it up after leaving the battery disconnected overnight. After about ten seconds, it run like shit and had a message the "engine power is reduced". I turned it off and after a short time started it again. It ran the 3 minutes like the instructions said and i shut it off. Waited one minute and started it again and it runs like shit and I keep getting "engine power reduced" message. Where should i start? Mike? You out there?
Thanks |

Your supposed to let it idle for 3 minutes first. You said it runs like shit . Or did you mean it idles like shit . Mine did not do that at all but one time I forgot to do the relearn and it would miss just pass 5000 rpm. I brought it back home, disconnected the battery for 5 minutes , did the relearn and it ran fine after . Everytime you disconnect the battery you have to do the relearn.

Sounds like a leak somewhere. The tb is plugged in?
Did you unplug the maf

Thanks for the reply. yeah, i unplugged the maf to install the roto fab and plugged it back in and locked the tab. I just went out and put the stock throttle body back on and it runs fine. Not sure where to go from here. Mike? I'm leaning toward trying the new TB since i let it idle twice for 3 minutes with the rotofab and stock TB. Now put the soler back on and try again. We'll see what happens. To recap, when the soler TB is on, it starts and idles kinda rough, (even sounds a little nastier in the garage) and will idle for 3 minutes. then i shut it off for one minute and restart per the instructions and it doesn't idle for 10 seconds and goes into the "reduced power" mode.

I suggest you call Mike and talk to him directly, instead of waiting for his help here. You can then tell him all the problems and whats going on after the installation. Pretty sure he can pinpoint the problem and come up with a cure.

Yeah, he sent me a mailing label to return it. He's looking into it.

As long as Mike may be monitoring our interaction here, I thought I'd ask a question I posed on a similar thread and got no response to. I do have to acknowledge the immediate opinion I got from another C6 member though, and it was much appreciated. Thank you hyperblue!
Anyhow, I was looking at the Soler website and saw they were describing the benefit of their transition adaptors- for example their 95mm to a 103mm MSD IM throat would help eliminate the "pressure drop" that results from a smaller opening intersecting a larger opening with fluid or air flow (the Bernoulli effect, right?). The resulting venturi could create more turbulent flow, right Mike? So (to get to my real question), even though I've bumped up to a 95mm TB that is not ported to a MSD IM with its 103mm throat that is also not ported, could I improve flow and/or air distribution? Thank you. Last edited by Ventmaster; 03-19-2022 at 05:26 PM. |
