Anyone ever had this problem? Or is this how it is supposed to be? I finally got it loose, but had to grab the end of it with channel locks to keep the whole bolt from spinning, I'm really naive on things like this lol |

It's normal. Hit it with a little PB blaster or WD40 and use a wrench or pliers on the non-threaded part of the stud.
