What is wrong with my wheel??
Been noticing my driver side front wheel has been peeling, and it keeps getting bigger, what's causing this? And what can I do to stop it? Really driving me nuts! |

Paint is chipping, only way to stop it is have the wheel prepped and repainted or possibly prep that spot and have it painted and blended in. Painted wheels are not a good option really, anodized, powder coated or polished aluminum are better options.

Looks like road rash, or some type of stone at a high velocity chipped it and it has weathered/peeled overtime. Your only options IMO are to get the wheel totally refinished/powdercoated, get a new set of wheels or do something yourself like plastidip them for a semi-permanent-semi-temporary fix.

A mobile wheel repair would charge between $65-120 approx to repair. Brushed aluminum is harder to match than painted, from experience.

I only use the soap I use to wash the body with, and the wheels aren't curbed either

Rock chips at highway speeds can puncture the protective coating. Over time, simple weathering could cause this type of damage. Once there is a chink in the armor, things can go downhill fast.

So a guy told me today at camaro fest that brake fluid may be leaking on my wheels and causing it to peel like it is. What do Yall think? I painted the calipers about a year ago, but didn't unhook any lines, it's doing it on both driver side wheels.

I agree, looking at the pictures, looks like you have two areas that are chipping/peeling. Both are on the same side of a spoke where they meet the rim. Looks like something corrosive 'settled' in the crevices while it was parked and started the damage.

Do you think something could be dripping on it? Such as brake fluid? |

That would be my first suspect, especially with you saying it's happening to both front wheels. I'd pull the wheels and inspect for any small leaks.
