Well............ the lifter in the #1 cylinder stuck and has ruined the cam and of course the lifter.

Next thing... I have a Texas Speed cam and it being aftermarket... Its not warranty covered like the rest... but being this is a known issue and TSB on it... Is there any possibility that this can still be covered by GM since its technically a failure of OEM parts? and has ruined the cam?

I doubt you can get it fixed under warranty with a cam. I'm sure that cam is much harder on the stock lifters than the factory cam. Good luck.

Everything else is covered under warranty... and the lifters are good for high lift cams, or atleast what they're advertising in the new performance catelog says they can handle a high lift?

I got lucky in a sense... only cost for me was a new comp cam but none the less... I dropped off my car to the dealership for 2 gasket changes and picked it up and its squealing and making strange noises. I can't prove anything but my gut tells me they started it while cold and someone couldn't keep their big ass foot off the pedal until it warmed up and stuck the lifter.

When you kill a lobe, you're going to have a completely trashed engine.
There will be metal embedded in the piston skirts and chances are the bearings might not be very happy either. If the lifter stuck, the bore is probably gooched up too.

It's gotta be taken apart, cleaned and put back together or replaced.
If that is NOT done you're gonna pay for it down the road with even worse problems.

Any aftermarket cam with a stronger spring is going to be attributable to the lifter failure...at least in their eyes and it may very well be a valid reason. I dont know anything about the lobe profile or spring used so I won't speculate.

I hope I'm wrong about the warranty, and I also hope your outcome is desireable. My fingers are crossed for ya.

worst i had was a valve that pinged a piston but barely barely pinged it not even .003 of an inch. decided to flycut anyway to be safer with PTV clearances. replace lifters, cam and retune. No problems in 15k miles.

I've had the car back for a month or so.... no problems. They tore the motor down and there wasn't any other damage. The lobe on the cam has very minimal wear looking at it, but since we're dealing with small tolerances it's a no brainer to change it. Pistons, walls, valves were all in great shape.
