What gears should I run?
I feel like my stock gearing just isn't cutting it with the mods I have. My 4th gear just feels really weak.. what do you recommend?

3.91 or 3.73. Although the 3.91 is stock in the 1/LE some people with the manual transmission find that to be too aggressive for their taste. I have an A6 and I just had 3.91's installed. Love them

I ...like Synergy have the A6 with 391s. The M6 is better suited for 373 from what Ive read. Do yourself a favor and talk to m6 drivers that have changed to a different gear and get their opinions. There are way to many people that will tell you what they think but still have the stock gears. Before my gear change I talked to members that had done the 391 swap. Plus 391s are GM gears built for your car designed to last 100,00 miles.

This^^ The main reason I got the 3.91's was because they were factory gears built to last in your car. I spent probably too much time asking tons of A6 owners how they liked them. Good luck with your decision

Same here. 3.91 A6. Installed the complete 3.91 differential 4-5 weeks ago. Very happy with the change.

I'm considering the LPE 3.73's from what I have heard AAM makes the gears and they also make the gears for GM. I think the 3.91's may be a bit overkill with the mods I am running. Hoping to get some feedback from some who are running the 3.73's

I think 3.91s would be too much assuming you make 600+ rwhp.
I have had 3.91's in a A6 for two years, fun stuff. But I also DD on DRs.

Have been asking myself the same question. Want to go more aggressive, but mine is a DD.
Have you considered a new torque converter?

I believe he is a m6. I wouldn't really change gears at your power level. Especially if you plan on getting more power down the road.

With the M6 transmission ratio being a lot less aggressive compared to a A6, go with a 3:73 or 3:91 depending on what you are really after, slicks or DR for track, I had a Yukon 4:11 which was a little too much, went to their 3:90 and it's about right for my needs, fixed the lazy 4th gear feel, M6 800+rwhp.
