This Is The Camaro I Wanted!!
This is the July 2008 issue of Road & Track Magazine that kept me from buying something else and waiting until the re-release of the new edition of the Chevy Camaro.
Now I`ve been watching these threads with regularity to see who has released what, when and how much and so far I have a pretty idea of what after market parts I want when I order mine this Feb. Now for the selfish part, I want the grill from the article`s Camaro. I`ve seen some of the after market grills and their not too bad, but I want this grill, so if some of those you are currently offering grill`s were to make this style of grill I`ll order one long before I take delivery. As a personnel note, this in my opinion is what the front facia for the SS should have looked like, either duel or single headlights, it also seems to work with the front scoop. http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....rticle_id=6814 As a side note, I still have that 2008 issue, very worn and looked at and daydreamed often. |

That grill was actually intended to be the base Camaro's grill which was to have a lesser V6 engine. When that model was scrapped all Camaros ended up with the same eggcrate. It matched the V6's lower grill exactly.

That's just a magazine drawing or photo-retouching of what they thought the finished car might look like based on the early spy photos which had pre-production filler headlights that looked kind of like that.

If you check out the slide show you will see two different versions, one with a license plate F/R and single outlet exhaust tips with a plain grill (which wasn`t in the org. article), the other is the featured car with twin exhaust tips with SS on the grill and both have the same headlights. If this is Photoshoped they did a really good job of getting all the different angles and light reflections right and why would R&T go to the trouble to change the look? In my opinion those are actual un-retouched photos.
