Show-N-Go License Plate!

I live in Texas and a front plate is required.:( This was the closest to not having one that I could get. Just installed it! Took about 45 Minutes!
Sorry for the quality, iPhones were not made for this.

That is the 1st one I have seen on a LT. Is it remote and can you tell when inside the car what position it is in?

No it is a manual, you simply flip it up.

I got a fix-it-ticket for no front plate, I'm not complaining cuz' he didn't give me the speeding ticket he pulled me over for, but it still sucks. $175 ticket becomes $25 if I get it signed off before 2/10, I'm waiting for this holder. I found one on Ebay for $55, the electric one is $135. I'm fine with the manual, I'll only hide it when I'm with the group or at a show, we usually don't get bothered in groups. cops are pretty cool about that. I'm just waiting for it to get here....

Hi! Thanks for sharing your plate holder. I'm curious to know if you need to put something behind it (when it's flipped out to show the plate) so it won't rub the bumper as you are driving along? Does it make any noise under the car if you are driving with it hidden away? Sorry if these questions seem dumb, but I am considering a manual one too.

RPI has them - manual @ $49.99 - link = http://www.rpidesigns.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=1672 ; powered @ $155.00 - link = http://www.rpidesigns.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=1716

They've been running a 10% discount special using code SS2007 - http://www.rpidesigns.com/shop/

I bought this way back in June but didn't install given the angle of the front fascia and how the plate leans on the bumper when up. I tried to get a bracket fabricated which would've provided a horizontal surface to attach the "Show N Go" plate to but came up empty. I still have it in the box and seeking another solution perhaps this one which Sir Nuke installed - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3D10%26ps%3D63

No disrespect to xBlackout_Camaro's install - I just didn't like how it would install at an angle, potentially rub the bumper (yes you can use felt to limit the rubbing) and not be centered.

True..its a bit of a bummer that it does install at an angle (I have yet to install mine but will soon!) but I just altered the plate holder, so that when it flips up, it can't set at its stock 85 to 90 degree angle (referring to angle between the sliding bracket and the plate holder when its pulled out). Instead, you can easily glue, tape, or fasten something to front of the slider, so that when you slide out the plate,it will sit and stay at around a 110 to 120 degree angle, thus allowing it to be positioned close to your front bumper without touching it.

Hope that makes sense.

ok. i have been selling those plates on ebay for 125 shipped. also have the manual ones which go for 45.

now if you line it up right it will not hit the bumper. there is a little piece it will hit first. also it does not make any noise.

it wouldnt look right at the nose. it would stick out different then on the side.

see the best way to install this would to cut two slots in the grill and it will fit perfect and when hidden it will be hidden. then when you have it come out it will look as it belonged there on the bumper.

also if you get cought with it down and no plate when you take it in they will test it and if it moves they will not sign it off. i got one with mine so i jammed a bolt in it while in the up position so it wouldnt move and they then signed it off.

I just emailed RPI designs this was the answer to my question about would the show and go retractable front license plate fit the LT bumper:
[B]Hello
It is universal, so it would fit the LTs as well as far as we know.
Thanks

I don't think that is true do you guys?

I originally placed it in the front but it was much more visible when it was in the down state.
