6l80 question about cover
I just pulled my trans today. I noticed that I can see the flex plate when the trans is installed. Is there supposed to be a cover between the flexplate and the block? When I see this it just looks wrong. My trans has been out before so it is possible it was missed on last replacement.

There "should" be a cover. Having said that, I've run cars/trucks without them with no problems in the past. Are there any places that look like a couple of bolts would hold the inspection plate in place? Some cars just use a rubber-like plug there; sorry, not too familiar with your model.

Thanks, I guess I will have to call the dealer tomorrow to see if they still have it. Hopefully they will own up to it it has been about a year now.
