Getting oil on the MAF sensor. Whether it's true or not, why deal with it when you can go dry.

i think that if you go with the dry filter you are typically looking at lower hp gains as opposed to the oiled ones. The only true problem people have had with the maf sensors are the people that drenched their filters in the oil. If "recharged" properly, there wont be any issues

Because it won't flow as well. The Oil on the MAF is .

When I was a Senor Tech at K&N we dipped (completely submerged) a MAF and installed it on our test fixture. It preformed just fine. What we found was the potting material used to manufacture the sensor was the problem every time someone sent one in for testing. This myth was started by Dealers that didn't want to warranty the sensor.... Typical dealer

The oiled filters flow better and are very efficient when it comes to protecting your engine. I've also seen this misinformation used by companies that make dry filters as they are trying to gain market share from companies like K&N and Airaid.

Kind regards,

How often do you oil the filter on the CAI (from CAI)?

It is dependent on conditions as well as the filter brand. On an N/A Camaro you can go 30-50K pretty easy! I usually go 10-15K personally but that's me!

Kind regards,
