Question Anyone Receive an SS WITHOUT Caliper Weights?

Found out my 2SS, VIN 10171, was produced yesterday. I'd like to know if I should expect it to have the caliper wheel weights or not. VIN 5395 still had them, but we haven't heard from any newer build owners.

Good question. And be sure you check the front and not the backs. Many people have reported they did not have them because they looked on the rear brakes and come to fine out they did have them. All of the weights are on the front.

I saw one recently with VIN below 1000 that didn't have any weights. Could have been before they started putting them on.

Good Question... hope we get an update.

Gee, thanks for making the whole situation even cloudier, mlee. J/K
First I've heard of them being on the rear.
The one below #1000, was it as SS? Only the SS Brembos are affected.

Ok, no weights on the rear. Thanks.
So, someone with a VIN around 500 has got them some noisy Brembos.

Inquiring minds still want to know.

Anyone with a VIN higher than 8970 not have them?

I think CanadianCamaro's VIN is around 8500. He doesn't have them.

Get your dealer to give you a note saying you'll get replacment calipers once available or refuse delivery. That's what I would do. Have it noted on your delivery inspection that it was defect when you took delivery.

Putting wheel weights on a caliper is a defect not a fix. NTSB would not approve.

Does anyone know what the fix was that eliminated the need for the weights from the factory?

All I heard, from a GM engineer, is that Bembro was working on a New Caliper for the Camaro, apparently they screwed up some calculations when specing these for the SS.

Picked up my 2SS, VIN 106861, on Friday, May 22 and no weights on front or back brembos. Only one word needed to discribe this car, Awesome!! I know it is frustrating waiting for delivery as I waited 7 months but the wait was worth it.
