On all the manual's I've ever owned, I usually try and keep the rpm between 2k and 3k. I've found that I usually get the best mileage if I stick to that. First gear alway's seem's long 'cuz your starting out in it. On my '84 camaro, I used to start off in second, and that seemed to be much more comfortable for me and the car.

Can either of you confirm that the V6 manual does NOT have the skip shift feature (going from 1st to 4th during light acceleration)?

Thanks

Beautiful - from what I read I didn't think it did, but never hurts to be sure. Thanks

I usually shift between 2-3k. Probably why I don't quite get the mileage as advertised. Sometimes I do my own skip shift, and go from 2nd to 4th - it gets up to 3k/35mph very quickly in 2nd!
