Attaching SS briaded hose to the stock PCV nylon hose/fittings

I upgraded my catch can hoses to the SS braided hoses since it looks cleaner then the rubber. Halfway through I came to the realization that I wasn't really sure how I planned to connect the hose to the stock system or fittings.

I want to avoid just cutting it, slipping it over the stock lines, and clamping it. I did think of using the AN fitting to hose barb to connect them but I'm not to familiar with the nylon line in terms of whether this would work.

I'll put a few pictures up to show the exact part I'm talking about. This is the tube to go from the dirty side valve cover to the intake manifold. Any suggestions are appreciated.

LMAO. I was actually eating supper when I took the pictures.

And the kitchen table is OBVIOUSLY the best place to do car stuff.

When I had my original set up I just cut the plastic hose back by the barb that goes into the valve cover and slid the braided line over.

Love it! had a buddy that stored all his car parts in the kitchen cupboards, along with the engine on a stand in the middle of the kitchen. had screwdrivers, and wrenches with his silverware.. He, of course, was single.

Strangely enough I am too!

I actually was removing tires in the living room the other night. The sad life of a college kid with just enough garage space for the car.

This is the adapter I was speaking of to connect the nylon hose to the AN fittings. Anyone think it could work?

those do require special tools. is it worth it? I would think that connector would work, if the hose fit tight enough

Why not just cut it and slip it over? If you are worried about appearance you can buy a hose clamp cover AN fitting. If you are worried about it coming loose I really doubt that will happen as tight of a fit as it is.

why not go this way:

just cut the hose at a given point, attach your braided hose cover, then re-attach hose ends together under the braid?

I am not familiar with this. Could you possibly provide a link to such a fitting?

Something similar to that. Slip it on like a normal hose clamp, tighten it, and it looks like an AN fitting
Here they are on my car when I had my old set up.

I ended up buying the AN to hose barbs and using them. I think they worked pretty well and gave it a finished look.

So far I've only had the can on for 2 days and there is already oil in. The clean side looks to be keeping the intake and throttle body clean as well. Elite FTW!

Excuse the dirt and picture quality.
