Question on gears.

HP aside if you swapped out for 4.10's or 3.73's what would the Top speed be reduced to in 6th? Assuming you have removed the electronic limiter.

Many people are concerned that their top speed will be significantly impacted by going to a more aggressive gear ratio, but in the case of these cars and the 3.73 or 4.10 ratios it is not. You will obviously lose a few top end miles per hour but these ratios are not so aggressive that you will hit a wall at 120mph. The car still has plenty of legs.

The Camaro does not reach top speed in 6th, though it might if you used 4:10 gears.

The Camaro doesn't have the power to do that

With an Automatic trans the deeper gears would perform better. because the transmission naturally slips the little extra ratio would help.

With the Manual trans I would go with the 3.73s due to the fact it is more of a direct drive system with little power loss.

all honesty 3.73s vs 4.10s isnt that HUGE of a difference only .37, inho don't think it would be a HUGE difference in performance with 3.73 or 4.10s. they would darn near feel the same.

Generally, we have found that with the M6 the 4.10s offer the best bang for the buck and are still good for daily use. For those who hit the track a lot 4.33s are also available. If horsepower levels over 550-600+rwhp are a factor then we recommend no more than 4.10.

For the A6 the 3.73 is the best option for most with 4.10 as an option for the hardcore.

That's what I was thinking, changing gears on a stock vehicle would obviously affect high end power in 6th. gear. But, if mod'd and have 600+rwhp. probably wouldn't make much of a difference on a daily driver, but I guess if you're tracking you might want to get as much as you could on the high end.

Using the ratios supplied in the Helms manual for 5th and 6th of .79 and .63 respectively and stock sized tires, the speed in 5th and 6th at 6600 rpm should be 190 and 239.

Stock 5th takes you to 194mph if you have the power, 6th is over 250mph
Talking manual LS3 & if you have the power to hit it in 5th.. If you put:
4.10s ur top speed 163mph in 5th.
3.73s ur top speed 180mph in 5th

Now this is if you have the power. At stock power car is drag limited to 174mph
I did not write 6th gear since the car probably wont have the power to pull in it unless you have alot of HP like over 700wHP. even with 4.10s 6th will take you to 240mph

Could do automatic if someone wants.

This cars stock aero will never allow it to reach max RPM in 6th with 4.10's. Running out of gear and RPM would be the least of my worries in this car even with 4.10's and 1000hp.
