Pics of '14 convertible tops anyone?
I didn't see any today? Did anyone see one?
I'm interested in the top canvas and mechanism of course.

Why would it be any different than the '13 model top? No reason to change it if the body didn't change.

I asked a GM guy on the forum and he said convertible will be shown in a few months.
Also said that it is generally unchanged, aside from what we saw on the 2014 today.

From the rear
No one will mistake a Corvette for a Camaro in 2014.

So there will be a vert in '14? Good to know. Let's hope they worked the bugs out of the top.

i am not sure, if i understand this correctly
but looks like there won't be any verts in 2014 (except zl1 verts) take a look at this http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1364494635 take a look at the top-speed figures on page 6 and you will only find a zl 1 vert, no ss or lt... you can find this at various places, just google 2014 camaro brochure |

There is no curb weight listed for the V6 or SS convertible. That leads me to believe there will only be a coupe. I have been saying all along that with sales dropping like a stone on the verts I bet the cancel them for 2014. With only a half model year the 2011's sold more than 4,000 more than full model year 2012. This is per the figures Scott posted a few weeks ago. Hang onto yours if you have a good top. Collectors item perhaps?

That is exactly why I have trying to be patient with mine (with the top fixes) and hopefully will be able to hang onto it. I also think that there won't be a convertible available for the 6th gen either especially if it already appears that the verts are being cancelled for 2014MY.I don't think GM wants to risk losing any more customers or wants to experience the extra costs associated with any more lemon lawed or buyback verts or long list of repairs under warranty. With the sales figures for the convertibles dropping like a rock the writing could be on the wall for the 6th gen convertible....time will tell. and 95birdible, if it is true we should all stock up on replacement tops!!!! |

But we should be able to buy the whole mechanism if they do discontinue the tops. You can still get them for the 4th gens. Just unbolt and bolt a new one on.
With over 4,000 sales lost from 2011-2012 and average 40K a car, GM lost 160 million in sales. Not counting what they had to pay out in warranty work, buybacks, and lemon laws. My bet is over 200 million.
