Dragoneye makes a very good point. We have been told that more information would follow. And that is from the top of the food chain. Relax and dont put to much credibility in what a mechanic at a dealer said a friend at a factory said...Come on guys dont lose all logic here!

And when Fbodfather says dont dump the clutch at 5000 rmps dont dump it...Are you guys all nuts.

I'll be the first one to blast GM, but you know what, its a Tremec issue and GM is the victim here. Guys who already have thier cars, just take it easy until GM comes out with the VIN range of affected cars.

I placed my order in Dec 08 and HAD a tpw of 7/13, talk about murphys law!!
I really feel its just a bad batch of output shafts. Shouldn't take too long to fix.

Nothing is wrong with the regular Manual shifter!!!

So I hope Mods read this!!

He wasnt lying it came straight from the plant!!!!!

So there is no problem with the M6!!

The only constraint there is, is on the Short Throw Shifter!!
I did not order the short throw shifter to thats not the issue

There are so many great points being made here....I am excited to see that so many folks really are respecting and thrilled that GM strike that...The New GM is not hiding behind a glass walled building and pretending there are no problems. They are being proactive and forthright. How many folks never new of a problem with their car until they got the little impersonal card in the mail saying it was recalled. We are all getting that straight from the mouth of the company. This is a great thing. Dont bash Tremec just yet. This whole issue might just involve a little engineering and GM has a lot of experience with an engineering fix. May not be an issue with the transmission itself being defective it could be the application or engineering surrounding it. Now what we should be complaining about is why Scott did not drive the daylights out of Thor when he had the chance. You all enjoy the day and to the mods thanks you are all doing a great job making sure everyone has fun during these tough times...Larry

Sorry, Fbod, my car has been in QC since 6/25. That is much more than a day or two.

Mine went in the same day. I want a car that is built right, but at the same time I am getting impatient.

I'm past impatient. It's been 9 months already and I don't know how much longer it will be. I should have never pre-ordered (my dealer did have allocation before anyone says anything) and been one of the guys who just walked into a dealership in May, ordered one and is now driving theirs... what a bunch of BS.
