I can't wait...less than 2 weeks...I'm going down on Wednsday so I can detail the car at my buddy's Thursday...plus my Vararam for the V6 is waiting for me with one of the vendors there...woohooo

First off... I want to thank everyone for the interest and future participation in this event. Many members of our club Camaro South are affiliated with our Armed Forces, and by being on the door step of Fort Bragg, we have chosen to put together Camaros for Heros. This event will be to support The Wounded Warriors Project, something that is very near and dear to many hearts that have a direct tie to our Armed Forces. This event will be held March 25-27, 2011 at the Fayetteville Motorsports Park, 4480 Doc Bennett Road, Fayetteville, N.C. 28306

Here is the planned list of events:

CONFIRMED:
1.The 82nd Choir will be present to do a 30 minute presentation.
2. Event photographer will be at the show taking pictures.
3. The Friday Night 20 mile cruise is ready to go with Police escort. (Starts at 6pm)
4. Scott Settlemire with the following:
- American Pride Camaro
- Neiman-Marcus Limited Edition Camaro
- SS/RS Convertible
- SSX Camaro Track Car
5. The Spymaster is attending, bringing VETERAN 1 & FALLEN WARRIOR!

Vendors:

2. LSR Performance - Donating CAI for drawing (429.99 value) Not Attending
3. Drive Shaft Shop - Donating a 3 1/3 inch Driveshaft (899.99 value) Not Attending

5. Mayhem Motorsports - Attending
6. Scentsy - Attending Wickless Candles, car freshness products! (For the ladies attending!)

Friday - Meet and Greet in Host Hotel Parking lot, organized cruise
Sarurday - Drag strip, car show, vendors, Chevrolet Show Cars, more socializing!!....
Sunday - Departing breakfast, Presenting money to Wounded Warriors.


Registration as follows:
Drivers - 40.00
Spectators - 10.00

*All drivers will recieve entry into the car show, unlimited runs on the drag strip, lunch, t-shirt and vendors.
*All spectators will have access to the vendors, car show and watching the drag races. T-shirts and food will have to be purchased seperatly if desired.

Here is the agenda we have set for the moment. This may be tweaked a little as we get closer but nothing drastic. We will have all this info available at the hotel so that everyone will have an agenda, with directions, and contact info as you arrive Friday.

Friday, March 25th

All is welcome to arrive as you please, just be aware you may not be able to check in until afternoon, so it will be a good meet and greet hangout through the day Friday before the cruise setup. This will also be where folks can get their rides cleaned up!

12pm to 5pm - Only Vendors will be able to setup at the track in this time frame. The gates will close at 5pm.

5pm to 6pm - Everyone needs to be at the hotel and getting ready for the cruise.

6pm to 7pm or so - 21 mile cruise around Fayetteville, to include taking everyone down the road that passes the dragstrip so everyone can get an idea on how to get there. This will be a police escorted cruise.

After the cruise - Camaro South will have our weekly Friday night meet up at the hotel, social time, dinner time... The hotel has a restaurant, there are many more to go to as well. Bring you're fold up chairs and we'll have a parking lot meet and greet at the hotel, show off cars, etc. (We have requested to have our own parking area at the hotel).

Saturday, March 26th:

7am - Track opens for all Vendors and personnel coordinating the event.

9am - Track opens for all attending. We will collect money at the gate as you enter, there will be 2 enter lines getting into the gate, this is to speed up the entry process and hopefully get everyone out of the highway as quickly as possible.

We will explain to everyone how the process will be for parking once you get to the hotel Friday, and we will be handing out track maps to help.

11am to 1130am - The 82nd Airborne Choir will perform as a salute to our Armed Forces.

11am or approximately 50 degrees - The track will open for runs from then till 7pm... all you can run, for the folks who pay $40.00 (We will have some exhibition runs from some hopped up GM rides through the day).

9am to 7pm - All the vendors will open, car show, we will have a kids corner with activities for them, raffle ticket sells, 50/50 ticket sells, t-shirt sells, and so on!.

12pm to 1pm - Car show judging, 1pm - trophies will be presented for the top 50, top GM, Ford, Mopar, and other, and then Best of Show. After the show, the 50/50 will be drawn, with prizes!. After the car show is over, folks who paid to do both will be able to move over to the track side and race at that point.

5pm - Raffle drawings will start for the vendor giveaways... which there will be some awesome giveaways thanks to all the vendors who donated.

7pm - Things start to close down.... everyone can return to the hotel at will, or eat, whatever you decide to do!.... At the moment, for anyone who is or would ask, I'm not sure if the track is gonna close at 7pm or will stay open later if people are still wanting to run. That will be up to the track owner.

After all the events.... once again, just hanging out at the hotel... enjoy the memories of the day!!

We truely hope that everyone enjoys the weekend, and worth the ride here!!.... We know there may be some bumps along the way, but we will have staff all around the properties through the weekend to help you, or answer any questions you have! We are just as excited as all of you are, we hope the Vendors obtain future business from the event, and are already planning for next year!!!
