Accessory Splash Guards, cool or not?
Just curious what the opinion is on the factory Accessory splash guards are here. Cool because they give the car a little bit of ground effect look, or bad because they make the Camaro look like a 4x4 or just any other typical car? I'm on the fence about them just wondering what the consensus is about them.

I think they are more functional than cool. I also think they really dont look bad but I made the decision to install them after i read about all the people saying they got peppered with rock chips and I noticed a couple of little chips on my own car and that was it. It's been over three years and I have no chips except the ones I had before I installed the splash guards. I recommend them if you want to minimze the damge...Just my opinion

Get them they are well worth the time and money. Looks good but this is based on ones own preference it's subjective.

I say get them if you're not getting ground effects otherwise. They can help prevent paint chips from what I assume.

I had them on my IBM 2LT/RS and thought they looked very good and certainly helped with the road spray/rock chip aspect. Like an earlier poster said, if you aren't going GFX, definitely get them.

That was Ruby's first mod. She already had a few paint chips in her gill area before they were installed. I have never been sorry. No chips in that area since. My car is no garage queen. I drive her so this was a good investment for me. I think they look good too. As a PS I prefer to be behind someone in Camarovans, who also has the quarter flares. They don't throw as many rocks at me!

Mud flaps belong on trucks.

Sorry, don't like them. You asked for opinions. It makes the car look dated. If you're worried about rock dings, get them...but it sounds like you're more concerned about if they'll look good.

I like them on mine, glad I purchased them. Helps keep the car clean. I don't understand why so many people don't like them.

yeah it looks cool for rocks to actually change the color of my black Camaro to a white .....thats why they r called quarterflares instead of mud flaps, if i had a truck that's what i would call them but i dont... i have a camaro and if i didnt have the quarterflares my paint would be destroyed in certain areas....

I like them. So what if they make the car look dated? It's that nostalgic look that some of us are shooting for anyway. I'd rather have an older/dated looking car than the newer looking 2014!

Do a search. You'll see plenty of threads on the debate. For me, my SS is a year-rounder so I have them. I happen to think they also look cool.
Kinda like paint dripping off a canvas. I dig it. The above pic displays it nicely.
