Camaro Corrals: Information

From Camaro Disciple Sherry:

Camaro Road Racing Fans….make plans to join in the fun at one of the upcoming Camaro Corrals at the IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge races!! What happens at a Camaro Corral? Meet & Greets with the Camaro Drivers and Teams, pre-race track walks, special parking areas and special giveaways – and at some venues, perhaps even a lap around the track. And….you get to meet and hang out with Camaro friends!!

Come out and support the Camaro Teams – the new Z/28.R has already been in Winner’s Circle this year and they’re once again chasing the championship!!! It’s a great family, fan-friendly event!

Show your Camaro pride at a track near you!!! Camaro Corrals are currently scheduled for the following venues:

Saturday, June 27 at Watkins Glen
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=403296

Saturday, July 25 at Lime Rock Park
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=402190

Additional information for each of the above can be found in the links provided.

These are great opportunities that I hope enthusiasts will take advantage of!

At present time, there isn't one planned for VIR. If interested in hosting a corral there, please let me know and we'll see what can be done. Thanks!

Start one. That's what we did. We can PM you the contacts at Chev and IMSA if you want. There's probably a group sales or PR person at VIR you can reach or the IMSA person likely can set that up.

No problem! Here's one from a while back as a clearer shot, but one from last year as well.

You, too, can get up close and personal if you're able to attend one of the corrals!!!

Bear in mind that car doesn't exist anymore. That was a Pratt & Miller built tube chassis car used in what was the Rolex GT series. The new Z28.R they field in the GS Class of the CTSCC is basically a somewhat modded production car, I believe also built by Pratt & Miller. I'm sure we'll get plenty of pics of that at the corrals as well.

Just got back from a meeting with my track contact about the Corral at Watkins. While there was going to go out on the track for the noon run, but... dang, cancelled at last second because it's apparently a test day for the IMSA guys and the haulers were coming in and needed to get into the track at that time. Bummer. Oh wait, Stevenson Motorsports was there. Bonus. The Zs were in the garage. Went inside to check them out. Can I take pics? No, you can look, but no pics. Bummer. They are awesome though. Yeah, yeah, I know, pics or it didn't happen. Unfortunately Mike Johnson wasn't here or I might have been able to. Oh well, next month.

Can you please send me the contact info? I would like to set up a corral at Road Atlanta in the fall. We did one last year when Grand Am ran there and it was a good time. My contact at Grand Am did not stay on with IMSA

Thanks,
David

Thanks. I will post the event if it works out. The race will be the Petit Lemans race (10 hours), so will be a great race to have one.

Our Grand Am corral last year was a blast, but I suspect we will need more cars for this one. Thanks to some folks from Tennessee and South Carolina we made the minimum number (barely).
