What dealer/aftermarket car protection products work?

I just ordered a new Camaro and need some clarification on whether any of the optional products the dealer tries to sell you (paint protection, undercoating, etc) is actually worth it or a rip off. I've heard good things about the Ming Mirror Finish product but again, is it necessary to protect the paint long term?

What advice can those offer on this? Which products work the best to actually protect the car's new condition?

Run from anything the dealer offers you.

This.

Your way better off getting it done professionally elsewhere at a reputable place...

Regular maintenance, nothing beats that.

This is a good reference:

Protect your new investment yourself, don't buy into the overpriced coatings that dealers try to swindle you into.

Agree with the rest of the recommendations. For the price of the dealer rip off or a PROPER professional job, you can buy just about all the equipment and product to do it yourself and you'll have it all there for when you repeat.
