Thought about rear parking sensors?

Now we know we'll deifinitely be working with blind-spots, would you opt for rear parking sensors or not?

Not me. We've got them in our Expedition and unless the sensors are super clean, the damn thing beeps at dust, raindrops, and air. I'd rather just learn the corners of my car and add small blind spot mirrors to the side mirrors.

Nope that's what mirrors are for.

There is a huge blind spot. I think a backup beeper would be good idea too.

Just pay attention to what you're doing, know what's around you, etc. Once you get used to driving a car, you'll get an idea of how close you can get to things. Really for me it's a cost issue and a non-necessity. I'm not going to opt for this, the sun-roof (mainly cause it destroys the look of the roof), but most likely I'll get everything else; SS/RS with the LED accents, ambient lighting, top radio choice, HUD (I know another non-necessity but a very cool one so I make an exception), and I'm sure of the wheels yet.

Also I guess I'm used to driving with blind spots..... the wing on my car pretty much consumes your view out the back. you either look over it (for distance) or under it (for close). But there is a middle spot that you don't see.

I rarely park in a way that requires me to go in reverse. I'd only need it to pull out of a parking spot or my driveway.

With no kids, and their toys, to worry about behind me in the driveway sensor's aren't an important option at all.

That would drive me mad.

No kidding. If those mirrors don't help you see around blind spots then what do you do? Get an extra pair of eyes? Heh. Living in Southern California you need all the help you can get seeing around blind spots.

It's the dumb people that drive into the blind spot and stay in that zone that's the most danger.

Something you cannot help. Rear parking sensors can.

All cars have blind spots. The system for the Camaro will be a nice edition. I have the sensors on my pickup and love them. I suspect however the Camaro may include a backup camera like we are seeing on many cars these days. It is a simple way to make backing easy and safe. I will be waiting for the HUD so since I will be waiting anyway I will also get whatever system that GM ends up putting in the car.

Nope. Don't want rear parking sensors and would never opt for them. If you feel you are getting too close, you probably are. Get out and LOOK. Common sense...

Drive alert, scanning mirrors prior to cars enterring blind spot... adjust speed to prevent vehicles from 'riding' in them.... easy to do in Fort Worth TX (except NE 820) and 121 north/east at 0700... maybe not as easy in CA.

For those who insist on driving in blind spots... maybe some type of wheel spikes to take out their tires!?!?!
