Front License Plate???
Hi guys! Ok, so, I just got the call from my dealer that my plates are in and I really don't wanna go pick them up because I don't want them putting holes in my front bumper. I will be moving to Florida in August and they don't require one which is why I don't want my bumper ruined. Any ideas on how to put it on there? I'm too cheap right now since I'm moving and all to buy a bracket too...lol. Also, if you have any ideas (i.e. wiring it on there) can someone help me? I'm not really talented in that department ;-/ Thanks!

Well if the bumper hasnt had the holes drilled in yet, I wouldnt bother applying the front license plate until you get pulled over. And if you ever do until August, keep the plate with the front bracket in the back of the car and inform them that youre scheduling an appt with the dealer to get the holes drilled in your car to mount it.
Other than that, I'd suggest velcro and maybe some tywraps to keep it on for the time being..

I have been driving in Minnesota (Front plate required) since July 09
Not pulled over yet......but word of caution...if you have even had a drop of alcohol.....maybe considering not driving......

Mine is on the front bracket and stored in the trunk. I do not plan on ever having the front plate on but will use the "scheduling a dealership appointment" line. Also, if forced, I will use the DIY post from a few months ago to temporarily mount it.

leave the front plate off for now, it is usually a ten dollar fix it ticket, you can always use 2 sided tape to get the ticket signed off, and if you keep the trip registration on the windshield most will not notice unless your pulled over for something. Warning some cities are ticketing all cars parked w/o front plates, Palo Alto for sure.

This is my recommendation for mounting it temporarily to get a ticket signed off on if you needed to. I would never drill holes into the front bumper. It just looks nasty.

If you drill a hole in your Camaro, I'll take your keys away.
There are some options for you in the DIY section. One solution is to attach it to your lower grille.

when you go pick up your plates go in a different car and tell them you will put it on your self, that way they wont have a chance at forcing you to do it...or do what i did and tell them your to busy to stop by and see if they will mail them to you...

Since when do dealerships force that? You just bought a $30K car from them...I believe I'll tell them what I want and don't want, lol. I have about 2 more weeks on my temps and them my front will sit in the trunk. I really don't care how many times I get nailed, I'll never run a front plate. Kiss my ass, State of Ohio! Luckily NC doesn't require a front plate. Don't drill your bumper...
