I'm getting a 20x8.5 with 32 mm offset fronts and 20x10.5 30 mm offset rears what tire size should I go for and I want it to have a little stretch because my wheels would have a 3.5'' lip on the back and I think it would look really good.

Factory size will fit. Not recommended to have any stretch though but it's your car. You wanna total it when you have a blowout at 75 on the freeway, be my guest.

Hey guys. I've been researching for weeks and it's ridiculous the amount of conflicting information out there.

I'm currently running factory Pirellis on non-factory rims. My wheels are Foose Speed 20x8.5 front, 20x10 rear. Factory is 20x8 and 20x9. The Pirellis look okay on the rims without much noticeable stretch, but they are also starting to look like they'll need replacing soon after 22,000 miles.

According to the tire sizes chart, factory tires are 28.7 total height. If I wanted to stay with that but still go up in width, I'd need 275/40-20 front and 315/35-20 rear. I'm reading about half-and-half yes-no on whether these sizes will be okay for 8.5 and 10 inch wheels.

The second option is 28.4" total height in sizes of 265/40-20 and 305/35-20, which would probably be a better fit for these wheels, but I think either option would likely be okay.

So now I have these two sets of staggered tire sizes to choose from. There are a few, according to TireRack, that will work for the first option, but none for the second. I would have to buy two separate kinds of tires for the front and rear if I went with the second, "more safe" option, and that's not something I really want to do. The second option will also throw my spedo off. AARGH!!!

So what do you guys think? Would it really be so terrible running 275/315 on 8.5/10" tires? I'm looking at the Continental DWS, since they seem highly recommended and they fit my size requirements.

Thanks!

edit - This site offers wheel and tire combinations (for Nitto and Toyo) in the 275,315 sizes for the Foose rims:

Man, I am dying over this. I have a 2010 2SS with the upgraded 21 inch wheels. I'm looking at 2k to replace the tires.

Any suggestions, other than buy a set of 20 inch wheels?

You can have different size in front and back. A .25" is not going to be noticed. But keep in mind if you go lower or higher the speedometer may not reflect accurately. I'm looking in on 22's and its impossible to be perfect front and back. You don't want a tire that won't fit the width and be stretched. So just keep it within a range. I'm stepping up to a 29" over all. Another thing to keep in mind. If the tire is recommended for a 9" and you put it on a 8.5" then you just raised th diameter. So it could go from 28.4 to 28.7".

Good to know. Guess I should have been more careful with my wheel selection, seeing the available tire sizes. Oh well. I'll make it work. Thanks!

edit - And if it comes down to it, I can always just burn a little rubber off to compensate for the increased diameter.

I have 22's (265/30 x4) - the ride is just fine to me. No complaints - get road hazard warranty on the tires, curbs eat the side walls for breakfast! LOL

Recently purchased 19x9.5 TSW Tremblant Rims for the rear of my Camaro, Any opinions on tire size?
Looking for something low profile but want to fill the wheel well gap.
