I was walking between my 02 B4c and the 2010 and bumped my hip into the passenger rear view mirror and it popped OFF !

Ok I think we need to ask ... it this the design for the mirror to be a breakaway?
Were my mirror screws stripped at the factory?
I am a total of 160lbs at a tall 5'6" and didn't bump it with much force just glad I was right there before it hit the finish when it fell loose tethered by the motor wires.
Not that it is a big deal to pull the door panel and re-tighten the threads (plastic)
Or should I take it to the stealer .. just looking for thoughts

2012 I suggest a possible change to the plastic retainers!!!

Take to the dealer. Let them fix under warranty

Dealer, just incase it ever falls right off and you loose it, or it gets ruined.

Thanks most of my cars never see the dealer again but I may take it for this mirror

Let the dealer fix it . . . then work on losing some of that hip mass of yours.

I think adding some hip pads might be the cure .... spare me the knee pad slammers !
