How long will my order take?

I placed my order for my Camaro (IOM 2SS Auto w/RS and Black int.) today at my local dealership! They told me that it should come within 10-12 weeks. Is this pretty accurate? How long on average has it been taking for orders to come in? I'm so anxious to get my car, and the long wait is going to drive me insane!

They coming around quicker now. My dealer got like 4 in a few days ago. I think thats a safe bet.

If you search you will find all kinds of threads about this... there is truly no accurate answer because we do not know if your dealer has an allocation or how many people are waiting in front of you. If they have an allocation 2-3 months if not could be anywhere from 3-7 months etc.....

10-12 isnt absurd, it sounds like 6-8 weeks for most people now. But there have been some that pop way earlier due to more allocations or cancellations. I would say MIN 4 MAX 12 right now assuming you arent order number 40 at the dealer

I see what yall are saying. My dealer doesn't have an allocation yet, but i am first in line for one. The salesman told me that it has been taking them about 2 weeks to get an allocation

If your dealer is telling the truth and you are really the very next person in line you are in good shape... As far as the amount of allocations dealers get per week it varies on many factors they may only get 1 or they could probably get up to 7 I guess and it varies week to week month and month to month from what I understand.

you need to find out when the allocation is due and is there anyone in line before you. Also ask how may allocations does he receive.

another thing is your dealer doesnt get another one till they actually deliver the car to the customer. So if they got one spoken for, and it sits on their lot for 2 weeks they dont get allocation. I flew to MI to get mine and my dealer Berger chevy was stoked that they could get it out the door by July 1st so it would open up their allocations

Crap. I just called my dealer and I'm fourth in line. He said that they get an allocation about once a week. The person that is first in line is expected to get their car in the middle of August. So he said that would put me at late September.

This is where the mass confusion sets in.....he failed to tell you upfront about the allocation process but instead told ya 10-12 weeks (with all due repsect to your salesman, he may not have known if the allocations were filled yet). He did not lie to you but was not clear either. At least he told you now but you may want to shop around your area and see if any other dealers have open allocations if you want to try and get the car quicker. To me it sounds like it could be much longer than 10-12 weeks if you are 4th in line.....hard to tell though. If you decide to shop around...bypass the salesman if you can and go directly to the new car inventory manager. He is the one who makes the orders and knows right away what is available or when his next batch of allocations will be there. This is what I did and when my order went in....it jumped from 1100 status on 6/24/09 to 3000 on 07/01/09 within a weeks time due to there being an open allocation.
