If there is to be a Z28 using current engines, the only one that makes sense is the LS7. The LSA is for the ZL1 and the LS3 is for the SS.

Ok, maybe the 1LE just can't possibly be as good as a ZL1 for sole purpose of having a hierarchy. But the ZL1 is sort of underachieving, as far as hype and expectations, as of right now. I know, I just blasphemed the face of the mighty one.

Anyway, write this down. When the Z28 comes out it will be better than the ZL1.
If your saying that GM will build a Z28 over and above a ZL1...they already said the ZL1 is the top dog!
Can a Z28 be more with less? Yes! That's why I and others like me want an LS7 based Z28.

IF the Z28 is basically an LS7 1LE, it would be interesting to see how it compares to the ZL1. Would it be similar to the Z06/Z07 Carbon being almost as fast as the ZR1 or would the ZL1 still be significantly faster.

....all I want is a FI mega HP LS motor in a tricked out suspension Camaro from da factory......<and I will trade in my car and get money back....LOL> Perfect world scenario.....mega ton HP FI LS motor in a ZL1 body minus the LSA.

As a response to the 500, "bring it on!" But expect a $10K+ bump... Actually, I don't "expect" it at all...

As a Z/28? Noda...

1SS + 1LE + LS7, @ BOSS LS price point, would keep Oshawa busy... MRC optional.

I didn't mean that to be the Z28. I said earlier, the only engine being built today that makes sense for a Z28 would be the LS7.

The only other viable alternative, for Gen-5?

Premier the coming LT1 engine as a "going away present" in the Gen-5 1LE/Z28...run some mighty fine times in the 3900 lb. version...then show just how incredibly improved the Gen-6 ZEE is, with a 3-400 lb. diet and enhanced Alpha underpinnings...

Direct injected, all aluminum, and higher reving (due, at least in part, to a cam mounted higher in the valley of the block). And a 4.4" bore spacing

Beyond that? There isn't much. Its expected that they'll come in 2 displacements: 5.3L and 6.2L. I wouldn't be surprised if VVT is used on all versions of it, and I'm sure they'll make a few improvements to the AFM system too.

I don't think there are any more facts or solid rumours about them.
