I've been reading your threads over the past few months to include your comprehensive guide of items and I must say that your contributions here are pretty awesome. I have a 2002 VW Jetta with 210K miles that I plan to practice with before I do any kind of polishing on the Camaro. Thank you! |

No worries, I cleaned my car with some over the counter items as suggested above.
My car is Blue ray metallic with the vinyl wrap hood. I would still like to properly clean polish, and seal the car next weekend with some of the high quality items that you have listed. |

I would like to use sealant after I polish and use some wax on top of the sealant occasionally over the summer months. I like the look of carnauba.
I would like to buy a machine, with that said I have zero experience with it so I will begin using it on my 2002 Jetta that I drive every day. It's got plenty of paint flaws. My wife owns a VW Touareg that I would also like to polish and seal. The Camaro is my first American car. Both the VW's are black in color. |

Menzerna Power Lock followed by Adam's Americana Wax. If you want to pick a machine take a look at this kit we have. Griot's Swirl Remover Kit. Phil |

Road paint lines
Well, I was being stupid and drove over wet road paint late last night. Now I have white speckle paint along the side of my 2011 yellow camaro convertable. I am in need of advice on how to safely remove paint from the car. Thanks for your advice in advance.

I couldn't pass up today's deal on the griots 6" polisher, and am now wondering if I need different polish. I see some products are labeled as "machine" polish, will these give a noticeably better result? I only have light swirls to deal with, so I don't think I need anything for heavy cutting. All I have now is Mothers California Gold (3-step kit) that I thought was good until I started reading these forums
How about wax? Are they all good for hand or machine use?

Hey DD, I am going to make the most out of my wax application and start using pre-wax cleaners. Want to use Pinnacle's Paintwork Cleansing Lotion since I've heard good things about it.
Details around the net regarding pressure during application seems to be unclear though, so I'm asking do you really need to apply pressure when using pre-wax cleaners as though they're polishes? I'm going to apply it by hand w/ a Lake Country CCS white hand applicator pad. I know that there are very mild abrasives in paint cleaners and that the solvents in them are actually what do most of the "cleansing" action, so I would think using pressure when working it in isn't necessary but I just want to make sure. |
