Still getting the wear hole along the sides.

I noticed after our last trip (1200 miles)with the top down, the wear hole was forming again on the right side. I repositioned the two screws for the headliner, but I think the plastic tab was/is the culprit. With the top almost folded up, the wear mark lined up perfectly (could be wrong). With a file, I filed the point down about a good 1/8 or a tad more. Maybe this will fix it......Other than that the '11 is doing great on the original top.

If you are still under warranty, bring it in and get the top replaced. Along with the replacement, request the new water bag. Then ask for a component coverage warranty. And join the class action suit against GM for their faulty tops and leaky water bags.

Also, they may refuse to honor the warranty since you took matters into your own hands and modified the top.

I appreciate it, the warranty just ran out. The main issue was to stop it before it rubbed through.

I would still bring it in and see what they say. And I would join in the lawsuit. It can only help you out long term.

Mine looked like that. I had my top replaced about a month before it went out of warranty.

I'm in the process of getting the canvas top replaced. Though, it's not an easy process, you should press the issue with your dealer. I'm fortunate the dealer I'm working with is pretty reasonable. Your bargaining chip is that this happened while the car was under warranty.
