So stock for stock what would you say? I want to know how an LS1 car that is running close to the same times bone stock as the 2010 SS doesn't get any faster with mods.

Stock for stock you're looking at 3/10's difference. We haven't seen a 2010 run in cool weather. I'll see you at the fall track rental. |

Numerous people have run 12.8 ~ 12.9s in 4th gen LS1 cars (including Nineball).. I am simply not that good at driving, hell my Fiancee pulled a 13.17 on her 3rd pass at Cordova (and her first time at a track racing ever). You can't look at my times vs the best times ever for a 5th gen and make a clean cut comparison. My 3 tenths can be made up by a better driver...it wouldn't take 30rwhp...(considering my pass was on a 2.15 60ft and I hit the rev limiter between shifts.) with equal drivers the LS1 is going to take this one hands down. Looks like I should have my clutch in by the rental..are you bringing the 2010? Maybe we should line them up and see how close it is without headers? If nothing else you can shut me up.

I know I'm not trying to start any fights or any thing like that. Mutual respect here as well.

Case in point..I ran 13.4 @ 104mph on a 2.1 60ft @ 3200DA... corrected that pass was 12.883 @ 108.254 MPH Went back to the strip with -127 DA and a 2.1 60ft got me nowhere near that. The corrections are not accurate at all...just educated guesses. If you hunt around the boards a bit you will find many people who think 12.7 will be a freak incident and 12.6 to be a bit out of reach. We will see what happens but without -1500+DA it's not going to happen often if at all like everyone wants it too.

Its all about the 60' guys...I have seen headers, lid, tune, DR m6 4th gens easily run 12.2-12.4 @ 112 or so...that trap suggests that is a VERY good ET, we should have several 5th gens trap that come Oct/Nov...problem is, can their 60' be good enough for them to ET that low...STOCK? Sure if you start switching out the brakes, running bigs/littles, suspension work, etc you could get there, but the OP's question is can a stock 5th gen outrun essentially a mild bolt-on 4th gen (LS1)...Drivers being equal I think it will be close...I hope you guys try it and video the whole thing, cause it will be fun to watch.

I would be VERY shocked if that happens... Right now if the corrections are even close 0DA is going to net 110mph traps -1500DA would be 111mph. (this is based on the best time actually ran at a track and posted on this site)...if someone knows of a glory run I haven't seen yet please let me know.
In stock form it MIGHT be possible but I wouldn't bet any money on it. I certainly wouldn't count on it happening more than a couple times tops.
